Date: Sat, 18 Feb 2012 16:22:45 -0800 X-Message-Number: 2 What is our liability as a manufacture if the installer or home owner remove or not install the tension cord????? Guess we need to talk to our lawyer Marco Bonilla division manager Superior Roman Shades 818.762.6685 (o) 818.767.6774 (f) www.superiorshades.com _________________________________________________________________________ From Rory, Hi Marco, I would say that's a good idea but I can save you $500 by telling you all you have to do is make sure the correct tension devices (no P clips) are shipped on all continuous loop shades and all the correct labels are on all shades. If you have questions give me a call, I'm cheaper than your lawyer:-) Best Regards, Rory McNeil www.Window-Pro.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Quarter Round Window Treatments From: Judy Cisler
Date: Mon, 20 Feb 2012 07:19:52 -0500 X-Message-Number: 3 Quarter Round Window Treatment Client wants a moveable window treatment for 2 quarter round windows flanking a living room fireplace. Other than shutters, blinds or cell shades that are fixed in place, are there motorized treatments available that can open and close? Blinds or shutters will not work in this room as there are 6 other windows looking out onto water and they don't want to block the view. What about window film - will this cut the glare without changing the view? Thank you, Judy Cisler Gotcha Covered 616 304-2657 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Miami Herald article From: Kdamiami@aol.com Date: Mon, 20 Feb 2012 12:37:44 -0500 (EST) X-Message-Number: 4 Hi Rory, I read this Miami Herald newspaper article about child safety and I thought this should be included in the discussions regarding window treatment safety. http://bit.ly/wF4QbN Thank you, Dan Camp, President Kenney Drapery Associates, Inc. 13201 NE 16th Avenue North Miami, FL 33161-4419 (305)895-2224 (800)543-1842 Fax (305) 891-7396 e-mail: kdamiami@aol.com Web: www.kenneydrapery.com __________________________________________________________________________________________ From Rory, Hi Dan, I have been following this story for a while. "Tip-overs of furniture, appliances and TVs send about 22,000 children 8 and younger to emergency rooms in the United States every year, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. From 2000 to 2010, 245 children died. That's a child dying every two weeks." Thanks for the link. There are certainly more dangerous products than window coverings for young children but that does not mean we as an industry should be working any less hard to make our products safer. As I've mentioned talking to consumers is also one of the most important things we can all do today and everyday. Best Regards Rory McNeil www.Window-Pro.org --- END OF DIGEST
