Date: Thu, 17 Sep 2009 14:55:34 -0500 X-Message-Number: 1 Looking for a window shade product that provides a view to the outside but blocks the view from the outside in. My client would like a product designed for that purpose without having to worry about lighting scenarios providing privacy as you do with most shade products. Date: Thu, 17 Sep 2009 14:10:09 -0400 X-Message-Number: 2 A number of years ago, I started to send in comments about the folly of purchasing Chinese shades, hardware, components, shutters, etc. , instead of keeping US citizens at work producing them. Well, a lot of you thought it was all one big yuck, and thoughtfully provided me with words of wisdom on the matter. Words on my need to "evolve", "adjust to the new realities", and how we never made our money providing window coverings to the middle class US factory worker anyway (wildly untrue, and a moot point anyway since we have also recently seen the flight of the high paid white collar worker's jobs to India, Russia, and other countries). So now that certain "inconvenient business realities" have rudely stepped into plain view, I thought that some of you might be interested in reading Roger Simmermaker's commentary on our President's actions to protect the US Tire Industry. For "Tires" feel free to substitute the words, Shutters, Shade Cloth, Woven Wood Material, Drapery Hardware, Textiles, Wood Slats, etc. http://bit.ly/NdAcv Ballance of trade deficits, and unemployment are subjects that are both such a hoot that I'm sure some of you will just die laughing ! Date: Fri, 18 Sep 2009 05:35:27 -0500 X-Message-Number: 3 I have a customer that has angled windows in their offices. The windows are at about a 30 degree or more angle, with the top of the window angled in towards the room. They currently have the miniblinds with the wire running down both sides to hold it in place if they raise or lower the blind. They are wanting to switch to solar shades. Does anyone know of a way/company that can make this work? I called Insolroll (I use them because they have a good product and I got tired of dealing with MechoShade!) and the guy at Insolroll said they have never had an application such as that and had no suggestions for me. So, before I nix the idea to my customer, I thought I would run it past all you folks out there that subscribe to this (great!) site. Thanks! Are they custom made to our measurements or pre-made with standard and adjustable sizes? Date: Fri, 18 Sep 2009 11:03:34 -0400 X-Message-Number: 5 Hello, I was hoping for some assistance. Does anyone know of a fabric company that carries F/R Casements? There are not many out there anymore. Also, can anyone direct me to a website or company that specializes in "eco-friendly" or "Green" window covering products. It can be a fabric supplier, or hard window treatment supplier. Does anyone have any recommendations for promoting yourself as an "eco-friendly" supplier?? Thank you in advance for your assitance.
