You would have U channel on each side with runner wheels attached to the sides of the romans. The runner wheels keep the shade in the window, as the customer raises & lowers the shades. It has the these features that make it the superior retractable door on the market today 1. Patented "speed reducer" for a controlled, slower, safer retraction. Won't slam back like other brands. 2. Powder Coated finish with 10 colors to choose from. 3. Welded edges on all screen materials which eliminates rips and fraying from debris in the path of the door. 4. Upgraded "super screen" also known as pet mesh. Won't rip, tear, puncture, or mildew. 5. Custom made in the USA, (Jacksonville, Fl) They fit any size based on your measurement, and can be applied for single doors, French doors, (both in-swing and out-swing) sliding glass doors and windows too! In my opinion, the retractable screen fails in the long term. Just isn't manufactured to withstand what a typical storm door might be able to handle. Think of a spring-loaded roller shade turned sideways with constant tension... Date: Mon, 21 Sep 2009 10:36:03 -0400 X-Message-Number: 6 Hi all, For solar shades try Castec out of North Hollywood, CA. For F/R casements try Robert Allen Fabrics, they have a couple of new samples books on the subject at are quite nice! Phantom does rolling screens for all doors, but they don't understand how to work together in my area however, so I don't refer to them. I at least expect a thank you for my referral!. All of you in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond will really enjoy what we have planned for you at the IFDA/ASID Resource Fair. Even if you are not close, the hotel is $89 per night if you mention our name and on Saturday you could head for the Wine Country where crushing is going on. There is nothing like the aroma of crushing grapes in the area. One could get drunk just on the smell alone. My best picks are Rutherford Grill for lunch and Castilla de Amarosa for a fabulous tour and wine tasting. At the Resource Fair we have the three wonderful CEUs from Hunter Douglas along with a class that is not a CEU on automation. There were also be 45 vendors including, Scandia, Kasmir Fabrics, Carol's Roman Shades, other work rooms, paint companies, kitchen remodelers, carpet and area rug suppliers. This gives you window covering folk the chance to branch out into other arenas. The folks from CCIDC ( California Council on Interior Design Certification) and CLCID ( California Legislative Coalition on Interior Design) will also be there to answer question. There will be lots of food, fun and the chance to network all to improve your bottom line! Come and enjoy and let me know you received this message from Window-Pro! Date: Mon, 21 Sep 2009 11:47:54 -0400 X-Message-Number: 8 Alan, I remember reading your comments because you laid into me about buying Chinese shutters.? I still buy Chinese manufactured shutters.? You were right in most of the points you brought up.? I also acknowledged that back then.? However, it would take a lot more than giving up on Chinese shutters to change our economy. For years we have been buying such large qty's of electronics, clothing and other things from China/Korea/India/Pakistan. If you really want to try to make a difference or make us see the light, why not revolt against the electronics industry as they dwarf the Window Covering industry?? Currently China makes the least expensive and one of the most user (installer) friendly shutters. I almost always buy American when I have the chance or the choice if everything else is equal. AHHHHHHHhhhhh.? There lies the problem!? EQUAL? Unfair trade practices, Yuan in alignment with world markets and currency, no import tariffs, no EPA, no retirement benefits in China, no union, no health care.........? When you get that part fixed please let me know and I'll run your presidential campaign.? Sort of tough to walk into a Wallmart or Sam's or Costco and not buy something from China.? I do support my local blind and shade company and I buy from a local farmer. Best I can do right now. How many of you traded in your cash for clunkers for a Toyota?? Alan currently it is a personal choice but you are right in another 20 or 30 years we will no longer have a choice.? Any suggestions as to what we are still competitive in for exporting besides oil refining equipment (the transition for me may be difficult)?? We better get a hell of a lot of our kids through college with engineering, technology and science in the next couple of years. T.
