Date: Tue, 6 Oct 2009 08:22:31 -0400 X-Message-Number: 1 To Scott Berres, It was long but pretty much on the money! The day of the multi million dollar CEO's is coming to an end! I enjoyed reading your statement. On a product that gives you privacy yet provides see-through visibility, all solar screen products regardless of the manufacturer provide DAYTIME privacy and see through visibility! At night the reverse happens! I try to keep it short. Gene Demestre ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: The Great debate From: "m. a. plumlee"
Date: Tue, 6 Oct 2009 05:09:29 -0700 (PDT) X-Message-Number: 2 Scott, I bow in humble defeat to you, oh worthy debater. I will go read and study the things you suggest. But here is slightly more about me. I was raised on union. My dad was a railroad union official with the BL&E. As a kid I learned to type typing grievance letters. My husband was a union official for CWA for many years. When I went to work at Southwestern Bell, at the age of 19, I was elected as Chief Steward in an office of 75 workers. Being in Texas, which is a right to work state, I worked long and hard to close the gap of people being able to have union benefits and not pay union dues...since workers could opt in or out of the union but still receive all benefits as employees. Later I moved to Oklahoma which is not a right to work state. I learned a few things in Oklahoma. Basically this. When workers are forced to pay union dues whether they belong to the union or not....then the union becomes fat and bloated and doesn't do a thing for their people. Why should they? They get your money anyhow. So working in Oklahoma meant that workers could be oppressed by management AND union. We had no effective representation to speak of. So, yes, unions have done a great deal of good in this country...but to say UNION is all wonderful all the time is not accurate. There's bad on both sides...union and management. People are people, and too much power in anyone's hands is never a good thing. One of the main things I saw my husband do as a union official was fight insurance companies for employees....not fight management. So especially in that capacity the union was a fabulous and necessary thing. So to say that I am blanketly again unions is not correct. And to blame unions for all of the mismanagement and economic problems in this country is a broad and simplistic brush as you so eloquently pointed out. Meanwhile, I stand by my position that liberalizing unionization in this country to include every small business would be detrimental. It would put too much power in the hands of AFL-CIO. Many small businesses would go out of business, or not venture into business at all. I'd respond more but I got to go to work so I can work one of those 14 hour days myself so I can make sure my employees get paid whether I do or not. Respectfully to my worth opponent. Date: Tue, 06 Oct 2009 01:48:02 -0400 X-Message-Number: 3 Talk about lively debates, this is getting good now. I have been amazed at how many supporting emails and phone calls I have received regarding my post about Prestige. Obviously, it has angered a few and given rise for a chuckle or two to a good many. What is most interesting about the Window-Pro blog is how many people follow it but how few actually participate by posting. This I have come to learn is due in part by the backlash that comes from a post or personal opinion but more importantly the concern that an employee has to upper management's reaction regarding their potential thoughts/posts. Not all posts are PC. I recognize that the statements I made were blunt. Some comments have been made that I must have a personal motive for writing such "slander" as Rory put it. I have no personal motives in the statements I made regarding Prestige. All statements I made come from my very own personal experience with them as a customer and as a supplier. I know that the comments that I made were hard to hear but they were the truth. The truth as I know it and as many of you know it. Even Darryl - Sunteca wrote in his post that: "Over the years, I have heard many horror stories about Prestige, related to their slow pay, poor quality and low price strategy." Here is another comment I received today. "I will say however, that every single vendor who calls on us has their own horror story about how much money they've lost dealing with Prestige, many of them in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." So, how am I wrong when I bring up what everyone else is thinking but afraid to say? How many ugly things have been written about the Big 3 here on Window Pro? We post so we can debate it and see what others experiences have been. As for the management... when I referred to the management I should have been more clear in my posting. I meant the leader of the ship solely not the employees.? My apologies. I have worked with Stephen, Chris and you Andy and have enjoyed the friendships. I know you have all done your best and have all worked your tails off there. We all know the position you are in. Last but now least... I find it extraordinarily interesting that Inegoti84u@aol.com Jason Eisenberg (Owner and Operator) - Home View Products, Van Nuys would have posted regarding the bankruptcy since he filed bankruptcy himself a year and 1/2 ago and left numerous vendors holding the bag for thousands of dollars while he fled to the state to Texas. It's kinda like the hungry coyote holding the chicken coup door open for his buddy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: RE: Hunter Douglas Transformer From: Layne Richins

If not I get power supplies of various voltage and amperages from Marlan P. Jones. www.mpja.com or 800-652-6733. Remember that a power cord to plug into the wall may not be included and must be ordered additionally.
