My HD rep went above and beyond and made a special trip out from her home (well over an hour away) on a rainy Saturday to accompany us to our client's home.  Client had had a Luminette with the traveling wand system installed just before Thanksgiving and upon inquiring how she liked the product a couple weeks later (basically I grunted the question at her while she had her hands in my mouth -- she's my dentist) I discovered she'd completely stopped using it because it would not traverse for her.  We'd been out the very next day after installation because the leading edge had come loose at the top and was dangling, and we'd already gone through the operation of the product.  The traversing issue turned out to be 80% operator error.  Client had been going through some physical therapy on her right shoulder (she is right handed) and had been trying to operate the shading with her left hand while babying her right.  By the time we were back out with the rep and had reattached the leading edge for the second time (actually the third, because I had dislodged it myself on the first follow-up/troubleshooting
appointment) her shoulder was better and after being shown again to keep the wand sideways toward the 9 o'clock position rather than pulling it toward her, she was able to successfully operate it numerous times with her right hand while we stood there.

We left her happy but I am less so and won't sell the traveling wand again. 
We used it this time because the Luminette was over the main access door from the patio to the garage and we wanted her to be able to pull the shading across the door behind her as she left for work.  Turns out she never does this and it was news to her that she could (all her operating difficulties were from the inside of the house).  We were replacing sheers we'd installed about ten years ago and the sheers had cords left/stack right for the same reason; shame on us for not re-questioning her on her current accessibility needs. I think the product is just too temperamental with having to be sure to hold the wand out to the side -- every other wanded product that I am aware of will operate just fine when pulling the wand toward the operator so the tendency is to want to do that with the Luminette.  Even if the homeowner is completely checked out on this, the first time the cleaning lady or a guest goes to traverse the shading they'll likely dislodge the leading edge from the carrier.  So I won't sell this again because I see no way around the operating difficulties.
